Thoughts for another day
Nov.

Today's verse: Mt. 6:33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all
these things shall be added unto you. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read
further. Thanks)
As you move more and more into God and
His Kingdom, you realise that the things we do on earth are more and more
meaningless. They remind me of Eccl.
1:14, 'I saw all the deeds that are done
under the sun; and see, all is vanity and a chasing after wind.' Think about it, persons across the world, at
every level of the pecking order, in every atmosphere, do the same thing that
persons, given their limitations, in the past, were doing. The basic thing is: there was a chase after
more money, more fame and more zeal to live longer; and so it is now.
Now this doesn't hark to something which
is done, as many say, in defiance of the natural order of the world today, for
the very nature of the world is flawed. Why do I say this, because the nature
of the world, as belonging to the rich and powerful, for they alone matter,
is to appropriate all wealth and power to themselves and usurp every piece of
land on God's earth as their own! In the
midst of this we, the people of God are to function and we're not to do the
things the world does, for it is not the way of God. For example, if we're likely to sell
something, God determines we sell it at a price that the least too could afford
rather than sell it exorbitantly to make a crazy profit. Don't we see this happening all the time, how
people cheat in increasing prices regularly quoting the rise in prices of the
raw material!
If what I say doesn't make sense to you
as it's exactly opposite to the wisdom of the world, take a look at our
Scripture above. Remember when you do an
honest thing; you're on track to seeking and inhabiting the Kingdom of
God. When you lend money without usury,
you're doing a just thing. When you give
a bite from your morsel to the hungry man out there, you're pleasing God and if
you are thinking of ways of helping the poor, rather than filling your own
coffers, you're seriously on the road to seeking His Kingdom and I tell you my
friend He will reward you with everything else besides and even more than what
you could ever imagine. Jesus knew what
He said and he will take care of you, both now and in the next world where He will
welcome you and you'll abide with Him eternally.
