Thoughts for another day

October 5, 2011

Today's verse: Is. 51:12, 13a. I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

When I tell people to look up to God when they're in fright; fright of what a particular man or woman will do to them, whether it be a spouse or the landowner or the boss in a company or a thug who's upset, then it doesn't make much sense to many for they're mortally scared!

Today's Scripture is a direct message from the God of heaven and earth in this regard.  In fact, I can sense that He is a little angry when He is saying that He is the comforter therefore, why should you fear a man who will wither away and die; and forget Him who created heaven and earth, fearing rather the oppressor as if he were to destroy.  Sense the mood in which He is saying this awesome thing for us to remember always that He is God, raised above all dominion and power and authority, be it in heaven or earth.  Always have this in your mind, that God is Sovereign and reigns above all.  He neither sleeps nor slumbers and when you take your fear to Him, He is quick to act on your behalf.   He is your Stronghold and your Rearguard.

He is the God who shuns the oppressor, so if you feel oppressed, recover from your oppressed stupor and turn to Him.  In a flash, He will knock the oppressor into the ground for I tell you, He hates them who oppress His children.  If your enemy seems to be furious on you, He intervenes and makes them melt like wax, washing them off in the tempest of His wrath.  Fear no man when you are in awe of God for He is the only One to be feared.  Rather if you have a situation that makes you break in a sweat, go unto Him immediately on your knees and beseech Him; He will help.  See, it's His promise even as above and I too have done it and have been helped.  He never will allow you to suffer from the oppressor but wrecks havoc on him who dares to point his finger at you.
