Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Ps. 85:8. Let me hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his faithful, to those who turn to him in their hearts. (NRSV)

It's very right to listen to what God has to say for in time He speaks to us; and when our hearts are tuned to Him, we can understand what He is saying and that saying of His can guide us in our lives so we don't stray from Him as long as we listen to what He says.

God's Word comes to us particularly when our hearts are rend in repentance and straight before Him.  He speaks peace to His people for He is the God of peace and no matter the turbulence inside of us, God can and does speak a peace which stills the turbulence, even though nothing has changed and He also provides us the courage to face our situations with confidence and come out victorious.   But this can be appropriated by us only if we're seriously looking for His solution for if we're but, even seeking something else, His voice will not be discerned by us for with Him as you know it's either yea, yea or no, no, which means either your heart is sincere in seeking His solution or not sincere and the answer will be according to your sincerity!  And this doesn't change for He never changes; which simply means, either we look to God for our peace or we look to the world.

The faithful are a special breed before God.  They're the ones who raise Him up as Yahweh Nissi  (God our banner) and therefore for them He is Yahweh Shammah (God is there) and He really manifests Himself to them, not necessarily is a vision or visibly, rather as a deep impression on the inner being where you know He is…yes you know He is.  The greatest discovery a man can make is to discover God's presence in His life and this as suggested above, is possible only when a man puts his trust in God without the corroding influence of doubt.  Blessed will you be when you sit before Him in total confidence and able to hear His voice.  All fear will vanish from you and you will be a changed person thenceforth.
