Thoughts for another day

October 4, 2011

Today's verse: Romans 12:12. Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;  (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

In God whom we believe and look up to, is our hope.  Jesus our risen Lord gives us reason to hope.  He gave us His promises that defy rational human thought and made us His friends, His children and His spouse.  Jesus gives us the hope of eternal life when He said, there're many rooms in His Father's house and He will go prepare a place for us; not only that, He will come back again and take us to Himself so where He is we will also be.  Imagine, the Son of God says He will take us to Himself.  And honestly, this brings tears to my eyes when I behold my God for see; I've sinned against Him grossly, yet…

In life, there're many things He sends us and among them are tribulations and difficulties and we often don't understand why?  But He knows and He provides us Grace, not to run away but be patient, face them and come out victorious.  Remember, Jesus had to go through a fiery trial.  At that time, the Father had turned His face away from Him (had He not done it, those who even dared to speak against Him, leave alone them who sentenced, wounded and killed Him would be destroyed; how dare they touch the Holy Son of God unworthily?) Jesus knew that and cried desperately, 'My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?'  He went through all this for us and tells us when we stand in trial to look at His Face on the Cross and be encouraged.

In every moment of life, Jesus prayed to draw strength to live in accordance with God's will and glorify Him.  How can we not do what our Savior did?  We need to pray every instant of our lives and it is possible if we try.  But we don't have time right?  The day may come when despite what we say, we'll have all the time in the world but won't have Him and really it's very frightening; but don't worry: renew now, your vow to your God and make space for Him in your heart and let Him lead you in this life.  All will be well.
