Thoughts for Another Day

May 4, 2011

Today's verse: Is. 55:8,9. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

Renee needed a retirement plan and she had a way she wanted it.  She petitioned God for her plan and gave Him the manner in which she wanted it.  Buddy needed a car and thought he'd pay back the EMIs in the way he thought would best suit him.  So he prayed to God about it mentioning the way he'd pay the monthly installments.  Shirley wanted a home she had a good description of; so she implored God to give the money for it through her rich uncle telling God to change his heart so he'd relent and give her the money.

Anything wrong in the way they went about asking God to grant their prayers?  You won't find anything wrong isn't it?  In the world, particularly when employed, if you want a certain result, you define it and strategize a plan by which it can be achieved.  Management by Objectives (MBOs), it's called. If you diligently do it, even if you don't achieve the result, you'll be praised for the manner you went about your work and I've seen this in some of the best organizations in the world.  Coming back to Renee, Buddy and Shirley, their prayer comprised what they sought of God and also the manner in which God could give it to them.  So right isn't it?  WRONG…  For look at our Scripture today; God isn't like us that He will concur with what we say is the best way.  No God has immense other propositions and ways in which what we want can be satisfied.

God's ways aren't our ways for He thinks from the 'ALL IS POSSIBLE' position whereas we think in our limitedness.  God can think of anything, we can only think within our means.  God can make the water purple and the sky red for He has the possibility; but we can only think within the available colors for we aren't in any way capable of doing more.  If the road is jammed and we're late to work, we can do nothing.  But pray to God of the situation and miraculously, the road becomes clear for you.  Today if you've prayed for something telling Him how He should deliver, change your prayer.  Avoid telling Him your way and depend on His way; it will happen, though not the way you wanted but in a better way.  For remember, It's always possible with Him.  And if you trust Him fully, great things will your eyes behold in your life. Amen.
