Thoughts for Another Day

Today's verse: 1 Sam.12:22. For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
For the comfort of all those people who're struggling daily with sin (how do you not sin), and know not how to get rid of it, for them is this Scripture of God to console and tell them that bear His Name that He will not forsake them for the sake of His Name. To God His Name is great and He will do anything for the sake of His Name. We Christians bear the Name of Christ, which is the most magnificent Name on earth: a Name which can shatter the mountains, still the mighty turbulent sea or even cast the earth asunder. And because we bear such a Name, we can be confident that God will not abandon us nor leave us to our whims and fancies which will take us to destruction.
Other than this is the fact that we are not Christians by chance, but we're chosen and brought into the sheepfold to behold the Chief Shepherd and live with Him all our lives; and Jesus clearly says, 'you did not choose Me, but I chose you…' Jn. 15:16. So we've been handpicked as it were, and brought into the fold to be His people, the flock of His sheep. So no matter what ails us, whether it is the dread of sin or some earthly difficulty like disease or financial problem, He is there to straighten it up because we bear His Name and He will never forsake us.
