Thoughts for Another Day

Today's verse: Hosea 13:6. According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
A strange thing of human beings: the more they're blessed by someone, the more they tend to be ungrateful to that person and the more they show their arrogance to him when things change! We show this nature even with God. The above Scripture is enough to show how God is so unhappy with His people because He says when they were filled, their hearts were exalted and they forgot Him.
How insulting it must be for God to see all this. He craves to bless us abundantly and He longs to fulfill our every need. And so He does…for His nature is such that He cannot withhold good things from us, though He may delay them. He does this even when He knows that pretty soon we'll be moving away from Him, ungrateful and rebellious that we are; imagine, God, seeing all this, for He can see our future and what we'll do and He still blesses. Today, when we have a problem, we fall at His feet and beg Him to redeem us and we do all kinds of things asking Him to help us. Then knowing we will turn from Him, He blesses us. Yes, truly He is a wonderful God and Praise His Name.
Moses warned the people he led out of Egypt in Deut. 8:10-17 saying the same thing that's above and even then they did it and offended His Holiness. For us today, there's a message here; perhaps we're blocking our blessing from God for a while because we will be ungrateful, so therefore we need to change our ways and be grateful before Him, not only when He grants the blessing but also when years have rolled by and then on bended knee we remember the tough times we had and tell Him, how at that time, He stooped down and came to our rescue. Oh how that will please Him!
