Thoughts for Another Day

Today's verse: Job 16:20. My friends scorn me; my eye pours out tears to God, (NRSV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
Sometimes the Lord sends us trials. Believe me they can be pretty tough; I may add that God knows our endurance levels better than us and takes us to the fringes of our tolerance where it seems we may break. But God knows our elasticity, and He works out His work in us bringing about a cleansing that safeguards our journey into heaven. Through this He gives us the Grace and strength to tide over our crises and difficulties when we willingly bow to His will.
Being human means we feel the pain and anxieties we're beset with. And the worst is when we're down; even people close to us, scorn us. Your own in your own house will laugh at you. Your focus will be on the Lord but your friends will revile you. Your stronghold is in God, but mind you, your own acquaintances will make you feel bad, very bad. I've gone through this and know how heavy the heart becomes. We look up to the hills from whence our help comes but there's no answer and our hearts are rent before Him, our God and Redeemer, the Creator of heaven and earth for some respite. But still there is no sound…
Morning and evening our eyes pour tears to our God, but looks like He is in some kind of slumber or is not even tuned to us (remember Jesus' heart wrenching cry – My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?) But this I will say, though there be no sound from Him, yet will our eyes be riveted to Him for we know that He stores our tears in His bottle and our every sigh is recorded in His manual. Just as He raised Jesus from the dead and gave Him awesome victory, He will still raise us up and make us victorious.
