Today's verse: 1 Chron. 14:11. He said, “As waters break out, God has broken out against my enemies by my hand.” (NIV – copyright acknowledged)

The man who gains God's favor is blessed for He has the power of God in his life. He cannot be defeated or down for long for God doesn't allow it to happen. He may be laid low by the accuser of souls for a while; and the intention of the accuser of souls when he's allowed by God to lay you down is to make your spirit frustrated enough to give up on God and forsake His promises.
But there's something about a man of God. Though he be tried through fire, he fights it with the assurance of God's promises which He knows will outlast heaven and the earth. He keeps the flag of hope flying high and though at times discouraged, he comes out of it in a jiffy. That's because God sends Him Grace in abundance. Grace may see the man bent, but will never allow him to be bent so much that he never stand again.
David was a man who had seen the worst come his way: afforded by both Saul and his own son, Absalom; yet, David rent his heart before God, trusting Him. When his kingdom was secure, he consulted the Lord before any of his wars and God, pleased with him, gave Him victory in all his endeavors; that's why David stands in the assembly of the holy ones and proudly, extolling God says, as waters break out (as when the dam is opened) so God breaks out in fury against my enemies (destroying them, obliterating their name) by my own hand. So it is in our lives too – God enters in time and delivers us from whatever we need to be delivered of bringing in us a strength, we've only heard of.
