Thoughts for another day

November 12, 2010

Today's verse: Is. 40:31. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

Man's body is made in a manner that it gets weary and then food and water are needed along with rest to refresh it and make it move in the desired manner. Without these man is literally finished and unable to do much. Other than this, the body can be diseased by which man also gets into a state of discomfort and isn't able to do much. This we all know, but when we consider God and His Presence, there's something else also which we ought to know and that is: The mere Presence of God can restore our bodies.

Many of us do not want to believe it because we have not known God leave alone even coming a mile close to Him. But there are men and women of God in the Bible and also in the world who have experienced God's awesome power that can work in our bodies and restore them like new. In the Bible, we have Elijah the prophet who walks forty days and forty nights on a single meal which the angel of God asked him to eat and traveled all the way to Mount Horeb! Many people in the Bible have fasted and prayed and God sustained their bodies.

Even today, I personally know some people who have fasted long periods of time, not having anything except water drained from cooked rice – if you feel this can nourish you, try it. You see, God is amazing. What seems difficult for us is simple for God. Mere air is enough for God to provide nourishment for us. Even if there is no air, God can sustain us and keep us fit. That is why the Bible says, Man does not live on bread alone, but on every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God! And it is so true my friend, it can amaze you no end. When in faith you bow down before Him, God can do awesome things for you and for me. Our little faith is seen by God to be much and He takes it and transforms it into a great thing so that our faith increases and we are adept to now see great wonders of His hand. That's why we have in our Word today, that we who wait on the LORD God shall renew our strength and never be weary. Believe it, it's good.
