Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Mt. 14:27. But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
Have you ever wondered what constitutes one of the greatest in a Christian? It is faith. Paul in his letter to the Romans says, ‘For in it (the Gospel) the righteousness of God is revealed through faith…’ You see, the entire power of God and His glory or for that matter everything that God is, can be perceived, felt or imbibed only through faith.
In fact, Abraham was accorded righteousness because he believed. His belief paved the way for him, who was advanced in age, to be able to father a child through his barren and withered wife Sarah!’ Faith can do wonders in our lives. Right now if you hold faith in God, the situation in your life that is causing problems will disintegrate.
In the above verse, when Jesus is walking on the water, his disciples think they see a ghost but when He speaks, they believe. Important to note here, is an instantaneous demonstration of belief: when Peter wishes to walk on the water like Jesus and expresses it to the Lord, Jesus says, ‘come’ and Peter actually walks on water. But the moment he doubts, he starts sinking.
There is something in faith that is inexplicable. Although you don’t see anything, things start moving and work is done. Great and marvelous things happen in an atmosphere of faith. But, faith to work has to be unalloyed and pure. Faith must believe even in the midst of horrifying circumstances or impossible situations. Also, it needs to be steadfast. I was reading something recently on faith and the person who wrote it says that, we shouldn’t move away from faith. Just hold on. For God just needs to know what kind of faith we have in Him. The period of trial can be very brief if our faith is strong. A Jesus-like faith can do the impossible immediately. And you must know that faith is a gift of God. Got by being in communion with Him.
I pray today, that you too, will be able to have such faith. But do one thing, have recourse to God. Soon, He will impart this kind of faith in you.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
