Thoughts for another day
Dec. 7, 2007
Today's verse: Ps. 80:3. Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
In our day-to-day walk on earth, many times we forget the Lord. Then there are other times when we kind of tend to ignore that God exists. And this is not only with the, shall I say, ‘least of the Christian’ (although there is nothing like this because all are equally Christian, for Jesus Christ has died for all), but also us ‘praying Christians’.
Somewhere deep within us the forces of the world work very strongly. Their intention is single-fold: to take you away from God and make you think that there is no God, or even if there is, then you have no need of him as you are ‘self-made’, etc. etc. And therefore we slip and err before God. The truth of the matter is there is nothing we can do without Him. The least of our activities need His concurrence, without which, it is not possible. And come to it, we dare think God is not real! And in this warped wisdom accumulated from the world, we move away from the light of His face.
That is precisely the case with the psalmist and the people. His prayer therefore, is to ask God to turn them again to Himself. For He alone can do that: but only when we are repentant and earnestly seek Him. My friend, in the light of His glory, the darkest shadow, seems but a blur and moves away instantly as His Spirit casts a glance on it. The oodles of trouble, which seem to weigh us down, just seem but a small pebble in our path to be kicked away when the radiance of His countenance sheds its light on us. Seek therefore, to pray in the above Words; they will provide the strength your life needs.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
