Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Jdgs. 10:16. … and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
Be amazed today for we learn that God grieved over the misery of Israel. What an amazing God we have. Unlike any other. He’s gentle, loving, merciful, kind and patient and more. And it’s such a privilege to worship Him. How great a privilege it is, we may never know however, it is certainly a great thing that we are given the opportunity to be with Him and worship Him and live as His children.
Why do I say this? Because, a few verses before today’s verse, tell about the Israelites sinning grievously against God. They hurt Him bad in worshipping idols, which in my opinion is the worst thing we can do to Him. See, we know He is the only God and to Him belongs heaven and earth. Even if we were to use our limited wisdom and delve into the knowledge we have, we will realize He is the only God for in Him alone, do we discover attributes that define divinity. Jesus maintained a dignity when He walked the earth that none could tarnish or replicate, unlike other so called gods who indulge in all kinds of frolic. He could at His command work any miracle at any time, yet, He never did it to prove His power before anybody. Most of all His message of love is like no other. As they say, His love can even transform a stone!
Because the Israelites disobeyed and hurt Him, He allowed the Ammonites and the Philistines to dominate and plunder them. But when they turned back and cast away the idols, His soul was in grief for their misery! God, when I read this, I really do not know what to say. I am sure that though He allowed them to suffer, He must have suffered with them too. He was extremely saddened for them who had literally sold Him off! Even when we see Jesus on the cross, we can see the extent and wonder of God’s love. That’s why when you think of it, you’ll agree our God is amazing. Why Lord, why?
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
