Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Song of Songs 5:10. My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
When you look at the person of Jesus Christ, the above statement will sure escape your lips for in beholding the Lord, you realize He is someone extra-ordinary. We may not know how He looks but we do know He is radiant. On Mount Tabor, Peter, James and John were dumbfounded when they saw the transfiguration of the Lord into but a fraction of the glory that He possesses. Marvelous is the stature of the Lord.
Then we come to His compassion. When the thief by His side prayed to be remembered, the Lord told him, ‘Today you will be with Me in Paradise.’ Then again, how can one describe a heart, which on its death throes forgives His killers? Such compassion reigned in the heart of the Lord that He never failed to satisfy the least of the souls that approached Him. In Him was hope supreme. The greatest sinner could approach Him with confidence and expect remission from his sin. There was no one who did not feel drawn by his compassion and mercy.
As to His love, what can I say? No matter what I do, it would be grossly inadequate. His love is so great that He chose to die for us rather than see us separated from Him. He purposed a room for each one of us in His Father’s mansion. Such is our Lord and see, despite His awesomeness, He comes to us in humility, saying: ‘Behold I stand at your door and knock…’ He yearns for us to open the door so that He could come in and sup with us. Which is why I will say, He is the chiefest among all.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
