Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Ps. 81:7. Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
God works in our lives and is ever there for us. Although we cannot see Him, He is there. We may feel He is not there because He doesn’t seem to answer our prayer. Our faith weakens and our footsteps slacken and we feel we are on sinking ground. Yet, it is at this time that the Lord is most with us…encouraging us, egging us on to move forward in faith.
Remember the Israelites who went out of Egypt or shall I say, thrown out by Pharaoh literally because of the mighty hand that God showed in His awesome work that almost destroyed the Egyptians. Now they had reached the Red Sea and behind them in hot pursuit came the Egyptians. The Israelites became desperate. They decried Moses and cursed him. They thought they were doomed. These were the very people for whom God had worked mightily a few days ago. I am sure, at each work that God wrought about in Egypt, they would have been thrilled. Work upon work; wonder upon wonder…they had witnessed and probably praised the God of their fathers; but now they were sore afraid. What will the Egyptians do to them? It was such a pity, did they think God had forsaken them? Or, was it that God was never there and those signs in Egypt were just ordinary signs happening automatically at the right time or worse still, was God dead? They did not even reflect on the fact that God is the great I AM – never ending. They did not realize that God could save them from any disaster if He had done what He did in Egypt. They did not bother to recall what He had done earlier. Hence their hearts felt fear.
Now, how is it with us? Very much the same isn’t it? Countless no of times, God has saved us, but the moment the next trial comes, our faith falls by the wayside. My friend, read the above verse carefully and recall each and every thing the Lord has done for you in His mercy. And when the next difficulty comes your way, praying tell Him, Lord you worked mightily for me last time, now also Lord, do the same and rescue Thy servant. And behold, He will.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
