Thoughts for another day
September 8, 2006
Today's verse: Is. 1:18. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (KJV)
Have you felt the whiff of cool breeze on your face on a hot summer afternoon? How refreshing it is. Now look at the above verse and feel the refreshment tingling down your spine. Because, here your Father, the Master of the Universe beckons you to come and reason together with Him.
Yeah, He is actually telling us puny creatures, vessels of mud, meant to dissolve into mud to come and sit with Him. His is an invitation, not a command; for He wants that we approach with our heart and not because He has forced us to. And my beloved, there is a tremendous promise here. He says, though your sins be like scarlet, they will be white as snow, though like crimson, they shall be as pure as wool. Absolute guarantee of absolute absolution – complete cleansing.
My friend, God does not require much of us but that we come. His word always is ‘Come’. He always calls. No matter the degree of pain we have inflicted on His mighty yet, gentle heart, He says, Come. No matter how much we have gone against Him, He yet beckons for He knows that if He forsakes us, then we are finished. Will you right now, attend to His call?
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
