Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: 2 Tim. 2:20. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. (KJV).

Suppose God happens to appear to you and asks you, ‘My child, I want to use you. Tell Me how you want Me to use you’, what would your answer be? In a catechism class, the children were asked the same question and Rohan a boy of 12 said, ‘Lord, let me go and preach your Good News all over the world; and Lord, let there be miracles and great works of healing.’

Would your answer be different from Rohan’s? From what I know, both you and I would echo the same, isn’t it? And why not, for we all want to do something for God and while at it, make Him work great things on earth through our hands. In today’s verse, there is an important message for us. How much do we aspire to be of use to God? How much are we willing to give so that of His offices, the best to us He will give. Don’t be fooled by the little that you do. It is not enough and you know it.

My friend when I look at the world today and even more at us Christians, I am really sad. No one thinks about Him. When there is a need we run to Him. After it is fulfilled…??? Ask a parent what he would want his child to become and the answers will be, doctor, engineer, mba, etc. How many will you find who say, I want my child to serve God…sincerely. It is a reflection of how far removed the Almighty is from us. It is like the how the ground blurs, as you are lifted higher and higher in an airplane. So also our Father is blurred. Not felt, not seen.

My plea today to you is turn back. Turn back. And when you do, also make your friend, your brother, sister and others you meet turn back. God send showers of His blessings on you and your family.
