Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Lk. 22:46. Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. (KJV)
More than ever now, we need to pray that we do not sin. I am really appalled and amazed at the depth to which the world has fallen and particularly us Christians. The greater surprise is not the presence of sin but of it being sugar coated and made to look, not like sin. I constantly see how we people have compromised with the things of God and how it is seen as something done for the sake of amity between people.
In an organisation for example, we become lazy and don’t do our own work and ask others to do it and make them feel that if they are Christian, then they must help without questioning, hiding well the fact that they should be doing it themselves. And what is weird is that it is an accepted practice. Then there are people who in some form or other practice the art of divination, palmistry, worship of idols, etc. and some people who know the things of God better, condone it giving them the reasoning that says, well you know it is not worship, you are just studying the science of things! You know what I mean. Were it condoning because it meant the person would repent and not do it again, then it is okay as Jesus Himself would do the same. But…
Therefore, I feel the real sin is deception. Satan has put this subtle form into our hearts and each time we look at something, we are deceived and fall into sin. When we don’t do our own work and are asked about it, we talk of not doing it because our spirits were low etc. - an excuse for our sin and the future reason to do the same thing again. This is alarmingly too frequent and too much. Even more sadder, is that we don’t understand that it is sin. My beloved in Christ, let us be a little attentive to Christ in today’s verse. I pray that truly the world over, we fall not into sin. Will you pray the same with me?
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
