Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: 1 Ch. 17:17. And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; (KJV)
You know, the Bible touches us in many ways whereby we come to know more and more of our Father in Heaven. He never ceases to amaze me with so many good things He sends my way. If you read the context in which today’s verse is written - you will need to read verses 16 to 27 for that – the sense of what I am saying will dawn on you. Beloved in God, see the fantastic heart clutching admission of God’s goodness by king David. A confession he makes in the presence of God.
Yesterday in the night after a particular moment of joy and the persistent sound of laughter from my daughter in great glee, I looked out of the window and at the sky and my mind started speaking to God. The words were of extreme gratitude to my Father in Heaven. ‘God’ I said, ‘aren’t you so happy that we are?’ And in my mind came the re-assuring response from God, ‘Yes my son, I am.’ My eyes almost welled up in tears. You know my friend, our Father up there loves the mirth of purity and joy in the family. He is so keen to see that joy in us that He almost leans from His seat and looks down in the hope that He will see it everywhere. Yesterday, when He did in my family, He sent down such abundant joy in my heart that my being was lifted to Him.
I may daresay when I slept, it was in a Divine hug and with the reassurance that His watchful eyes are on my family and me. Truly, marvelous are the ways of God. He can bring joy in the midst of disaster to those who are close to His heart. He can lift the pall of gloom from those who are devastated in an instant and fill them with joy. He can raise the banner of joy in the dark of the night. And well, you need do nothing, for Him to do all this, except pay obeisance to Him. Dearly beloved, look He calls in the night for He wants you to be embraced by light. Do me a favor will you; poise your ear now, to hear His call.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
