Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Jn. 14:27. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (KJV)
In hindi the national language of India there is a phrase, ‘Jo dar gaya, samjho mar gaya’ which means, ‘he who fears is dead’. Fear has been the single largest cause of destruction of many people’s lives. Fear of this and fear of that is enough to bring down the toughest of humankind. Of the very successful people who walked on the earth, there is one trait missing in them: fear.
Jesus Christ, the most successful of them had no fear, which is why when He was on trial; He could answer the chief priest and Pilate without batting an eyelid. Jesus never learnt to fear because He knew God. In the domain of God, there is no fear. When the Spirit of God rests upon you, fear cannot strike you. Paul was persecuted, imprisoned, beaten, and humbled even left for dead but never did fear grip him. When you read the Acts of the Apostles, you will see that toward the end (Ch. 27) when the ship he was traveling in was battered, everyone feared, but Paul.
My friend put on the cloak of God. Run to His shelter and take refuge under His wings. Perhaps you don’t know what I am saying but just look up to God and tell Him, ‘Father, I know not what this brother says, but I cast my burdens upon you.’ That will be like taking refuge under His wings. I know of many people who are fearful of everything and they live their lives in fear but there are others too who take what the Lord is saying in today’s verse very seriously and resist fear. They lead victorious lives. Fear is the anti-dote to victory and the enemy of souls destroys with fear. Jesus therefore said, ‘Do not fear, for I am with you.’ Praise God, He is with you and when He is there who can do anything?
My beloved, live life the right way, banish fear from your life. You may say, but I am in such hot waters, how can I not fear? Let me tell you that your trouble really starts when you begin to fear. Last year I had a similar problem, which would have swamped me, had I feared. I didn’t and the Master worked a miracle. And I am sure He is sending a miracle toward you today, please my beloved; don’t block it with your fear.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
