Thoughts for another day

September 14, 2006

Today's verse: Nahum 1:7. The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. (KJV)

At times when I think of our Father in Heaven, my thoughts move to David and the great relationship he had with our Father. The absolute confidence he had in God and the way he moved with Him. Reflecting completely the understanding of the above verse. In a way if I were to re-say this from God’s point of view, I’d say, God knew David, for David trusted Him.

David rarely took a step without checking whether God wanted Him to move ahead. As an example, I would like you to read 2 Sam. 5:22-25. Isn’t it beautiful? God tells David to first discern the sound of marching on the top of the mulberry trees and only after that, move. This meant that God Himself would have gone ahead of David and having marched upon the trees, would move to conquer David’s enemies!

Check my beloved the words in the verse above. See, it says the Lord is good and a refuge in time of trouble. I exhort you today to hold on to Him if you are in any situation of helplessness. If there is pain, you are not able to bear. If your heart aches and, you feel tremors in your veins. If the very thought of living another day scares the daylights off you, its time you go to the Great Bosom of the GREAT IAM. For there is abundant rest there and even the toughest situations melt in His presence.

Some of you I know are struggling with life’ situations at this moment. Be assured of my prayer and the prayer of many who are reading this right now. But above all, I want you to understand just this much: Lean on to your Father in Heaven. He will not let you down. My personal experiences with Him have been awesome. Whenever I am in a situation of difficulty, I am with Him and I consider the situation as passé. There is so much comfort when I offer myself and my situation to Him and He makes me see the joy beyond. This goes for you too. There is not a single child of His He isn’t concerned about. Rather, remember, He comes seeking you even when you are not with Him for He loves you and He beckons you to come and unburden yourself; which is why Peter rightly says, ‘Cast your burdens upon Him for He cares for you’ 1 Pet. 5:7.
