Thoughts for another day

July 7, 2006

Today's verse: 1 Tim 3:16. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. (KJV).

When you think of God, what picture comes in your mind first? It would be certainly a picture of grandeur and splendour. And why not, Our God is certainly majesty robed. But, to us the uninitiated, God has presented many mysteries and one of them is the mystery of 'godliness'. When the time was fulfilled, Jesus came to the earth in weak human form. He whose girth is infinite, contained Himself into the finite and very very small human form. He walked before both man and God in great fortitude and earned stature among both. His wisdom could not be refuted by man because His being was in the Godhead and He sucked the wisdom and power that belonged to God (even we can do it my beloved).

God's Spirit justified Him and anointed Him for Ministry in Israel. As He traversed the earth, He was seen of Angels and after He ascended into heaven to be received up in wholeome Glory and take His seat at the right Hand of The Majesty, He was preached to those who did not know Him and many believed on Him.

Today He remains in His Spirit with us and looks upon us with mercy and compassion. He desires that His mystery unfold to the whole human race and He looks up to you to unfold it. Are you willing?
