Thoughts for another day

Jan. 2, 2014.

Today's verse: Is. 40:31. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further.  Thanks)

Christian living and Christian love my friend, is all about encouraging.  While Jesus lived on earth, His every Word, His every act was full of encouragement.  He understood the power of encouragement of His own creation, man, more than anyone else and we see Him doing that always with His disciples, leaving them in the end with His Word, ‘I AM with you always, even till the end of age!’

So taking the tradition of our Lord Jesus Christ as we begin this year, I’d like to encourage ourselves with the above Scripture.  As we move into the year, there may be challenges we’ve never imagined coming our way; and contingencies and emergencies and other stumbling blocks; but I want you to remember that our God is far, far bigger than any rock of difficulty and I’ll use the rather meaningful cliché: Tell not God how big your problem is, rather tell the problem, how big your God is!  If we only do this, we’ll see all our problems vanish; because God wants it that way.  God had always wanted that we be dependent on Him for all things.  Yes, even the little niggles in the body or the choices we make.  God wants to be involved in everything for He loves and aches so much for us to be with Him, I can’t tell you how much.  Believe me; He wants to be very involved in our lives.

So like the Israelites were told, I also tell you, ‘Harden not your hearts, but in humble repentance, come before God and lay yourselves down in His Presence; confide to Him everything that concerns you; everything.  And then trust Him to work things out and if something seem so impossible that there seems to be no way, don’t worry, for there’s no mountain so huge He can’t move it.  And if you wait upon Him, you’ll renew your strength, just as Abraham or Moses had done and you’ll mount up on eagles’ wings and none shall beat you.  You strength shall not wane nor your vigor diminish.  That’s the promise of the Mighty One, the Most High, the God of the universe and everything that He says, He is able to accomplish and He accomplishes it for us His children.
