Thoughts for another day

Nov. 5, 2012.

Today's verse: Deut. 23:14. For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee. (KJV)

God is an awesome Presence.  His mere being with you means you're separate, holy: different from the world and God will be with you as long as you're in the state of holiness for He is holy and only in that state will He be with you.  God's Presence in our lives should mean the world and more to us for God is everything.  You may have the whole world against you (hypothetically) and God for you, yet it's more than enough for God fills the heavens and the earth and is more than this world and even more than the universe and more than…what can I say for the universe is where my knowledge ends.  He is all in all and everywhere.

God in His Presence with us, doesn't mean we'll be looking glorious or our faces will shine as did Moses' when he spent many days with God up in the mountain.  But yes, our souls will shine and people will know there's a difference.  They'll know there is something about you they're not able to understand.  Peace will be in you that's undefined and difficult to decode.  There'll be the note of sufficiency in you although you'll not be known to be rich and there will be the air of Grace that will make people around you comfortable and warm.  But it doesn't mean that there'll not be difficulties or the usual pains of life.  They will be there; so will the ability to bear them. 

All this when God abides in you; and God will deliver you, let your enemies and those who contend with you perish before you although you never desired that.  But God will prove His love for you in doing that and other things which will please you because you chose to please God.  Remember God will do all this when He is present in your life and that can only happen when you're holy.  So I say my friend, strive to be holy for in it alone will you see the abundant power of God as also the power to see Him face to face beyond this world, in time to come.
