Thoughts for another day
Sept. 13, 2012.
Today's verse: Pro. 16:3. Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
Committing our works and thoughts to the Lord is the best way we can operate in the favor of the Lord and gain His blessings in our lives. And mind you, His blessings may not seem to be really good, using a metaphor: like honey in the rock, but they keep us in fine fettle and help to go about our things in a manner, both systematic and useful.
When we commit our works to God, He is pleased. And remember, when God's Name is invoked on anything concerning man, His supernatural power is exercised on that thing and though we may not see it, His power keeps our works from straying, helping them reach their expected end or even better. An example: Let's say we set out to buy a home; now there're so many things involved, like necessary clearances, permissions, structure quality and what have you. I ask you, can you really ensure everything will be okay; and when you spend your hard-earned money, you'll not have any problem but enjoy your home for a long time? I'm sure you'll not be able to say with certainty that everything is okay for there're many things you don't know and the greed and cheating of men is exposed more and more with every step of the way, because they know that revealing it at the beginning will make you go away.
But God knows everything and if you're committed to Him, He will sometimes even against your own will, make you move away from a thing. You wonder why for you really liked it, but still it transpires that you don't go for it, even if your family and friends ridicule you for not taking the right decision. Eventually you come to know it was right and you thank God for it. My friend there're hundreds of decisions we make in our lives and we're just not in a position to always be right; therefore, it's best to commit them to God and ask for His unfailing eye to be on all that we're involved with for then He will watch over you and make you lie down in green pastures even as He leads you to perfect peace.
