Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Eph. 1:4. According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
That we should be of a particular type was decided by God even before He founded the world and the chief quality He had in mind for us is: Holiness. In the last few days we've been dwelling on this aspect and I'm sure like me, you are also considering how to be really holy before God.
Holiness is that chief quality in a man that's endearing to God for God Himself is holy and He honors holiness more than any other quality in a man for when there is holiness in man, he also usually has every other quality that embodies holiness which are love, mercy, generosity, etc. Look at it this way, how can a man be holy unless he has love or is merciful or is considerate to those who are poor? Holiness comes into a man when he considers the immense love God has for him and how on the other hand, he disgusts God every time with his sin. I feel so ashamed when I sin for I realize that I'm betraying God for such a small amount, which is the benefit that I derive from the sinful act or thought or lack of act. So I tell myself to change and be holy and only in that am I truly satisfied.
God has determined that in holiness when we reach out to Him, we shall see Him and Jesus sealed it with His Word, 'Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.' It's a virtue which takes us to the door of the Lord and Master. So what greater incentive can we have than being able to see God, face-to-face? The road won't be easy, but lean on the Master and you'll triumph.
