Thoughts for another day

July 4, 2011

Today's verse: Mt. 26:41. Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

Trials come galore to us in the world and temptations rule our lives each day as we live it out.  The devil is very active in the world today as he's desperate to get the denizens of the Kingdom of Heaven out of it; do them out of their just positions in the Kingdom as it is theirs, not merited by their own accomplishments but by the great act of the greatest lover of souls – Jesus Christ.  So he fools us and lies to us of all the beauty of the world (fleeting though it be) telling us there is no wrong in chasing it though our purpose is something else altogether.

And what happens to us; well, both you and I know: we fall and at times miserably.  Sometimes, we're too weak to even get us and contest our fall.  Eventually we fade away and disappear into an oblivion from which heaven shies away.  This is exactly what the father of lies wants and we give it to him on a platter and surprisingly we sell our souls to him for a song!  When asked we'll say, 'Oh, it's so difficult to live a life of purity before God, isn't it?'  To be honest, it's my refrain too when I sit with God in conversation.

What's the possible solution you may ask and it's this: PRAY. Sit in COMMUNION with GOD.  There's nothing greater and more powerful than righteous time spent sitting at the feet of the Lord, even silently if you will, for let me tell you, just being with the Lord fills strength in our sinews and arms us with steely nerve to avoid the evil temptations the devil puts before us.   It helps us tell him to go to hell, where he belongs, where he can practice his pernicious acts.  Yes my friend, your spirit will be willing to be subject to God's will, now give might to your spirit, by being each day for at least an hour, with the great God of the universe. He who loves you, loves that and in time will pronounce you His bride to go and reign with Him in His beautiful paradise.
