Thoughts for Another Day

June 2, 2011

Today's verse: 1 Pet. 1:23. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

God's Word is our true strength and power in life, a Friend that abides with us when needed and even when we're still. I'm encouraged to understand that God's Word is our all-sufficiency and there's nothing greater we need than the Word of God to live abundant lives.

Our Scripture today endorses this view – for the greatest purpose God's Word has come for mankind and that is to be born again, not of corruptible seed like the seed Adam but of the incorruptible seed that is Jesus Christ and this by God's Word which has revealed the Savior Jesus Christ to the world, which Word is eternally abiding and alive.

Making friends with the Word of God is the best a human being can do in his life; for with the Word of God comes knowledge of God and with knowledge of God comes a life pleasing before Him for when we know Him, we live according to His ways and thus gain His favor on our lives. Meaning that our lives, pleasing to Him, now attain eternal life which is not by our own doing but by Him who lives forever and who is God on High.  Be conversant with His Word for you never know, at that split second of time when you hang between death and life, both here and the eternal, it would be that our knowledge of the Word of God will lead us through in triumph.
