Thoughts for another day

May 2, 2011

Today's verse: 2 Kings 19:27. But [O Sennacherib] I [the Lord] know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against Me. (Amplified Bible – copyright acknowledged)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

When the boughs of hell weigh heavy on the chosen of God, He flexes His arm in heaven and rather than sorrow and agony, the child of God laughs at the machinations of the devil scorning him as it were for though the bough be heavy, it shall not last and shall be cast asunder under the heavy rage of the LORD God, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.  For well must you know, God does not allow hell to prevail over His chosen ones, no, not at all.

When we read the whole episode of the Scripture above, we find Sennacherib mocking God's people and scorning them.  He even has the guts to insult THE LIVING GOD, THE MAGNIFICENT, HIS MAJESTY YAHWEH GOD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH!  Then a king, a king Hezekiah, humbles himself and prostrates before God Almighty.  He seeks out the man of God, Isaiah and prays him to beseech on behalf of the children of Judah.  And from heaven comes God's answer, 'Do not be frightened by the words you have heard!'  Then God destroys the ramparts of the king of Assyria and shunts them in ruin and destruction from which they never recover.

I tell you today my friend, do not be frightened by the despairing words you hear: you are finished; you are good for nothing; you are miserable; you are going to die; you will never succeed; your marriage is ruined; your life is over…  Cast these words into the closet of God's wrath and lift your soul unto Him who is the eternal God of mercy.  Cry, yes cry to Him your God in the deep anguish of your heart and tell Him your situation.  Believe me He will arise and laugh your problem to scorn.  Let me also tell you, though He had brought it about, He did for a good purpose and He will work out His purpose and give you victory.  Just believe.
