Thoughts for Another Day
May 18, 2011
Today's verse: Jos. 1:5. There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
A way of life pleasing to the Lord brings His Awesome Presence with it and also the realization of various promises He has made to His children of which the above is one. Joshua, who replaces Moses after his death, is re-assured by God that He is there before him.
God chooses His people after knowing their hearts and their response to His call. Once a man affirms God's calling in His life, then God makes his paths and leads him on them. God takes care of every aspect of that man's life whether it concerns his family, his health or anything else. In this the man may face a number of tribulations and sufferings. But if he is steadfast in his faith towards God, God proves Himself on his behalf eventually. It takes time and in this time; the 'faith in progress time' as I call it; life can be very difficult. The Bible gives us Moses' own example where after his call, he spent 40 years in the desert. Of Joseph what shall I say, he who was to be above his family, was first cast into the cistern, then sold as a slave and then dumped into prison.
But if we're ground in the mill of God, we need remember the above promise of God. Yes, years may go by and we may see no sign of redemption, but it will come; yes, it will come for God will work it out. You may not know how, but He will, for He is the God of the impossible; didn't He show this to Abraham, when He made him a dad at age 100?
