Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Is. 41:10. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (KJV)

God is like the mother bear that's furious when her cubs are threatened. When the predator comes, the cubs are afraid and they cower in fright and lose heart for the fear of the enemy is too heavy. The whole atmosphere at that time smacks of death and despair. They're too fragile to do anything leave alone defeat it. In their fear all they do is squeal in loud cries to their mother; and their mother, though she hear nothing else, hears their cries and rushes to their help. In anger she smashes the intruder and banishes him from near her cubs!
God our Father is like that. Count how many times in your life you've forgotten His power and cowered in fright against the enemy. Haven't you been suffocated by your own agony and bent down in defeat? But, let me tell you: when you get on your knees and cry out, the sound is a unique siren, reaching the ears of the Lord who immediately bends down, looks at you and says, 'Fear not for I AM with you. Don't be dismayed for I AM the LORD. I will strengthen and help you; yes, I'll hold you with the right hand of My righteousness and you'll sail though in comfort.'
However difficult it be, after you've cried out to the LORD, strain your ear to hear His voice of comfort and know this, He will rescue you. The danger may even seem to have engulfed you and is about to tear you to pieces, but then He will raise His standard upon you and stand between you and your enemy and crush it before your eyes. Your heart will then exult in joy.
