Thoughts for another day
November 30, 2010
Today's verse: Deut. 32:39. See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
Our God is a Sovereign Lord. He is Supreme and the Owner of all creation. The earth and all its fullness belongs to Him. He is its Master, for He created it and He is its Sustainer for He is responsible for its well being. No one can question God about anything. No one can say anything to Him which will matter for no one is like Him to even stand before Him. All His decrees come to pass and because He is infinitely good, we can rest assured that He will do good for He not only has created everything perfect, but He also loves us perfectly and abundantly.
Our God is a jealous God (Ex. 20:5) and He doesn't tolerate the worship of idols. We understand this even in the human context: when an inventor invents something and the credit is stolen by someone else, the original inventor is livid and goes to court to prove that He is the inventor. The same is with God; only He doesn't go to court; for which judge can judge before Him? Don't forget, justice takes its form from God for He is just and were it not so, there wouldn't be anything called justice for what would be considered right and what would be considered wrong anyway?
Because He is so great (even greatness takes its meaning from Him) He does everything as His will decrees. He kills and brings to life…yeah He wounds and heals, and who can question Him. Man can only term His wounds as a natural disaster! But remember between all that is said above here, God is our passionate lover and He wants to bask in love for us. Proof of His love He has given in His offering of His only begotten Son as the sacrificial lamb for us. Think and ponder, is there anything else that He can give as proof? And today, think what worshipping this Awesome God will do for you. None of us by worshipping Him can enhance His stature even a little bit, but rather we make ourselves eligible for His Grace and blessings when we worship Him. And when we think upon Him in our lives, He comes to us as a balm; to heal and to redeem and lead us on to new life. We just have to be surrendered and waiting.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
