Thoughts for another day
November 2, 2010
Today's verse: Ps. 80:3. Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
Lord, restore us O God, and look away from our sins.
Take note of us O God, though we rebel against You and cause much pain to You.
For You know Lord that sin is deep in us and being human means we literally fall into sin each moment we are awake and we offend Thy infinite goodness.
Understand O Lord, our weaknesses and let not Your fierce anger burn against us. Remember O God that we are just like straw burning in the afternoon sun and we last but, a day at most two or three and then we wither to be known no more.
You O God have created us and set Your seal of love upon us. You comprehend us better O God then we do ourselves. Therefore Lord in Your abundant mercy hold us close and do not let us wander away from You, though the urge be very much; and fill us with Your Spirit that by His might we are always able to praise and honor and worship You. This even if we are brought down by the problems of life which we ought to face, as a result of our sin.
Lord You know our hearts well and You can probe the intimate insides of us far better than any human can. You know our sitting down and our rising up and we implore You Lord to dwell in every fiber of our being. Even as we say this Lord, we don't forget how pure and holy You are and how sinful and dirty we are. Yet, Lord, just like You pitched Your tent among us and lived with us long ago, so Lord do now even if by Your Holy Spirit and encourage us constantly to always be mindful that we are Your people, the work of Your hands and Your own precious inheritance. And Lord, save us by Your mercy and Grace and cause Thy holy countenance to shine upon us. That will be enough for us and we know that we will be saved to dwell with You in Your glory ever and ever. Amen.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
