Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'

Thoughts for another day
Aug. 27, 2009
Today's verse: 1 Pet. 1:18, 19. Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
When I think about it, the graciousness of God that is, I can’t help but wonder how He redeemed us from our sins; rather from our deplorable and shocking situation. God did not use any object He had created to redeem us. Rather, He Himself came down from Heaven as a mortal…imagine this, He came in the form of His own creature to understand us, to help us understand Him, to believe in Him, to have confidence in Him, to move with and talk to Him and then finally give His life for us.
How precious is the sacrifice on Calvary on which was slain the Lamb of God, the very Christ of His covenant, the Holy Redeemer of the nation of Israel and thereto, the whole world. Imagine the blood shed on the Cross and even at the scourging pillar. That pure blood which signaled that the world was to be washed by it and it did, washing away the entire sins of mankind, across ages and time. Someone once very nicely said, that even a drop of the blood was enough to wash away the entire sins of all time of the human race.
You know, how base we should feel when we think of this. Even in the manner of love He had for us that He died for us, even when we were in the pit and even when we did not cry out to Him from there. Our Saviour Jesus, suffered terribly for our sake and even at that did not stop, yet bore the Cross and the humiliation and suffered the ignominy of being hung before the thousands who had come to Jerusalem in complete shame, this when He knew He was innocent and He also had the power to destroy every figment of mankind at a Word!
My friend, today let’s pray for each other that we may understand that it cost God much to bring about our salvation and it is a great privilege for us that we have Him as our God. Bow to Him today.
