Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: 2 Chr. 10:15. So the king hearkened not unto the people: for the cause was of God, that the LORD might perform his word, (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
God’s purposes; how many times have you had to listen to these two words and express your helplessness at the way God functions in your life?
Many of us people have many expectations of God. Many of us also firmly believe that He is able to deliver, no matter what we ask of Him. He does deliver the day to day food and other things we need but there are so many more things we need and we pray for them. God however, doesn’t seem to answer. It’s very intriguing when we find God doesn’t seem to answer our prayers and very often we’re really at our wit’s end trying to figure out what to do.
I have experienced this my friend and to be honest, I have even shouted at God in exasperation and frustration. Being a man of God and speaking His Word doesn’t mean we’re shielded from God’s ways and many don’t understand us when we express our pain, as people feel we need to bear with whatever God sends us, which we do, but it can be painful, just as it is for you. Be that as it may, it brings us to the question as to why does God not keep us in peace all the time?
If you read this verse above, it says God allowed it so that He could perform His Word. So too, I guess, God allows many discomforting things to happen to us because there is a greater pleasure reserved for us. I for one know that it’s to be in this world only unlike what many say, in the next world. What the good thing is, we do not know. All we need to do is trust Him and keep to His Word and I’m saying this as much for me as for you, for let me ask you, if it is not to the Lord, who else can we go to?
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
