Thoughts for another day

Aug. 3, 2009

Today's verse: Ezek. 37:27. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

In the Bible, you’ll see one wish of God running throughout. And that’s His great desire of being with us. Makes me wonder; do we know the preciousness and pricelessness of our God and how we are so close to Him all the time. The problem is we are blissfully unaware of God and His ways. And the even greater problem I see, is that we want to remain that way.

In our verse today, he affirms that His Dwelling Place will be with us and that He will be our God and we shall be His people. If we know God and this Word of His, we must cherish it because this is a sense of ownership that God confirms. Don’t I know what it means to be owned by God? And see, the beauty of it all is that God wants to own us even though we are dirty and filthy. That’s what our soul’s are like, if I may clarify, and God sees us that way. Yet, there are two things that blur God’s vision and He sees us as pure and holy…those two are: one, His love and two, the blood of His Son. These two make us look beautiful in His sight.

He loves us so much that He is willing to take possession of us. Would you ever take under your roof a dirty, mangled and messed up pet? But God, yes, no matter how messy we are, He wants to be with us. The message in Ezekiel may prompt us to say that it applied for the Jews, but at that time, the Jews had committed gross sin and been exiled and then God gives the Word. See the love of our God who ignores His personal angst and pain at the sins we commit, but stretches His canopy of love over us always. Isn’t He worth worshipping and praising? Hallelujah.
