Thoughts for another day

Jan. 9, 2008

Today's verse: Heb. 7:25. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

Fret not Christian for you have the Lord God with you, would be the refrain of the author of the letter to the Hebrews, to us the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ in this age and time. And why not; because we know of the love the Lord has for each one of us. It is simply marvelous and without limits.

You know when in those moments you completely keep yourselves off worldly pursuits and only reflect on the Lord, you will feel His tenderness toward you. It will amaze you to know of His concern for you. It is not concern as shown by the world but genuine ‘help-rendering’ concern.

When I look at the above verse, what touches my heart is the greatness of our Lord. You know, even now as I write, I can visualize Him at the right Hand of our Father, sitting there in His glory but ever thinking about us and what’s more, interceding for us with the Father. I may be filled with sin, but there He is interceding and telling the Father to ignore my sin. I may be in trouble and my relationship with the Lord will be such that in the demands of justice, it would be fitting for God to ignore my plea of help; but there is Jesus my amazing Savior who pleads at the Father’s right hand for me. And then I know that the Father will answer my plea for His beloved Son has advocated on my behalf.

When I fathom this, I can but feel joy in the Lord and be assured that my Redeemer is for me and He cares for me. So why don’t I just rejoice; for I know, my Redeemer lives, ever to plead for me with my Father.
