Thoughts for another day

Dec. 3, 2007

Today's verse: Ps. 14:2,3. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

Listen O child of God to what the Lord God hath witnessed of us. That we have strayed and become filthy, none of us is doing good and none is seeking Him, who hath created us and sustaineth us in His mercy and love.

What we need to do now is look deeply into ourselves and try and fathom what has gone wrong. In what way have we messed up and fallen short of His glory. Why have we gone from Him? Why don’t we seek Him in our lives? Is there anything that God has left incomplete that we are unhappy about? Nay, rather God has done much more. He has given us His very Son Who has stood in the gap for us. He still stands even today for He intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father.

Why then are our lives so frivolous. Why are we like little sticks in the ocean, bobbing along with every wave? Why is there no meaning in our lives? See, God has given us of His Spirit too. And His Grace flows in abundance to us, particularly when we are weak. I think it is no insufficiency on God’s part, rather us completely ignoring Him. Yeah, He is right when He says that we do not try to understand and we do not seek Him. We may say, ‘but, where is the time?’ Now, now, 24 hours in a day hath He given us and can’t we give Him one? Besides, we need to understand that in His presence that one hour is precious and the peace and rest we get in it is equal to two hours of rest by sleeping.

In this season of advent, I am going to go to His throne, seeking His Hand and waiting to behold His face. I am going to cry and tell Him that I have ignored Him enough, yeah, outside, I may pretentiously show that I pray and am close to Him, but now no more hypocrisy. I am going to Bethlehem (house of God) and find Him, so that I may gift Him my heart. And you?
