Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Mt. 9:12. But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
Continuing on the theme of mercy that our Lord has for us, it is astounding to learn that He Himself came down to show us the tenets of His mercy and His love. In the above verse, Jesus reflects the same idea. And He gives justification in using a metaphor, that of a sick person needing a doctor. But merciful and kind that He is, He doesn’t mention that here, He Himself comes to the patient even when the patient doesn’t seem to want Him!
What is amazing is that in the context of sin and sinners, Jesus justifies His being with sinners as He says; it is for them that He has come. People ridicule Him for mixing around with them but He defends them. Very unlike us, who brand people as sinners and then refrain from having anything to do with them. We also develop stories of them and like to mention these stories, maligning the subject of the stories even more.
Our world is very different from Jesus’ world. It is in His world where there is an abundance of mercy and love. In that world, the sinner is not looked upon as someone filthy, but as someone who can be washed clean. In that world is beauty untold and anyone is welcome who can accept forgiveness and repent. Into this world today, is our Lord leading us. Are we ready to walk with Him or are we asking Him to come again another day?
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
