Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Nahum 1:2. the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)
If we ever think that, the atrocities committed against the people of God will be condoned by Him, then it is erroneous thinking as today’s verse infers to us that God will take revenge against His enemies. How do these wicked people who are our enemies become God’s enemies? Because, God is personally involved with the people who are His own. How do we become His own? By living and communing with Him.
God watches over us and his eyes roam around the whole earth to encourage those who are devoted to Him. He is very concerned about the body of His Son Jesus. In fact, when Paul persecutes the Christians, Jesus asks him, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’ not ‘My people.’ So much is the Lord involved with us that He deems us one with Himself. The Father has always sought this and the Son in John also prays that we all be one. Amen, how blessed and beautiful is the Lord who wants us to be joined as one inspite of the sins we commit.
And then we see how God will come to our aid when tormented by the enemy. There is no doubt about it. We have taken the verse a little out of context in that, when God utters it through Nahum, He talks of all those as enemies who have disobeyed Him but we can extend this to mean that those of us who are loyal to Him and remain in His love are also His people and He will avenge our persecutors.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
