Thoughts for another day

April 18, 2007

Today's verse: Job 23:14. For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him. (KJV)
(Pls. read the above before you read further. Thanks)

There is this beautiful song: He is able, more than able to accomplish what concerns me today… Really when you think of it, and you truly believe in the Fatherhood of our Abba in heaven, you will be delighted to learn and reiterate that ‘He is able’.

God has given us life and put us in the cocoon of our families to be nurtured and molded as His child. Then when we grow up, we are to do the same with our children. But there are times we look at what is happening in our own lives and we see our life derailing from what seems to us to be the proper track. We despair; get frustrated and are drained out. Our spirits are not able to reconcile with the turmoil within. Seasons go by and all seems worthless and futile. ‘What to do?’ is the question uppermost in our minds.

My friend, in the midst of this strife, it is right to look up to heaven. Maybe a fair dew will trickle down our creased brows and remind us that ‘He is able’. You know, we can do nothing without Him. We may boast and shout that we are self-made and that all things are possible with us. But is it really possible? What if you had asked this question, to one of those who were in the jets that crashed into the World Trade Center in New York, just minutes before it crashed. What would he or she have told you?

But God is able. You never know with Him around, anything is possible. You may be a pauper one day and turn into a millionaire the next or the reverse. All power is at His command. He can call into being that which doesn’t exist. Awesome and glorious is He. And you His child can tap that power only if you believe that He is able to perform the thing that He has appointed for you and even more.
