Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: Rom. 1:25. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (KJV)
In the journey of life, many are yet to know or, figure out what God is about. I may agree with some enlightened brothers and sisters that one cannot know God fully for what is man that he even understand a fraction of what God is; for God is big: a never-ending oasis of, ‘everything’. Yet, whatever little we know is by Him and through Him for without Him, there is nothing we can get of Him. Because we don’t know Him, many times what Paul says in the above verse can happen even with the most ardent Christian viz. some purpose, say becoming rich, can become god for us and the focus shifts from God to that purpose. I refer to that little that knowledge of God, we have access to and may I daresay, right to, because of Jesus’ sacrifice which made us co-heirs with Him.
It’s sad we don’t know God. Many claim to know Him but do they really? Problem why we don’t know God is, because we don’t go to Him directly. We go through all kinds of via means – yes there are many theories on why we should go through them – but Jesus Christ very clearly said, ‘Come to me…’
For most of us our understanding of God comes through preachers and others who can influence our thinking to exactly what they have made God out to be and hence if they have got it wrong, the whole congregation gets it wrong. Example, there are many who see God as someone meant to give them good lives, victorious living, etc. Not that there is anything wrong in that for Jesus Himself says, I have come to give you life and life in abundance. What is wrong I might say is they forget that they were meant to praise Him. Yes, praise Him the God of the universe. God requires us to meld our will into His which put in another way is, make His will our will. By this I mean, we live for God and God alone, yet it doesn’t exclude our lives on earth or a certain amount of devotion to our families or love for our families, etc.
I have discovered that when I love God and devote myself to Him, He takes care of most of my problems and gives me the strength in case I need to handle some things. I don’t run around in circles, or land into stupid situations because, he clears my path. He sets me on the right track and makes people do my work much before I have even thought of it. So the rough is smoothened out. When this happens, I realize that there is nobody else I need to look at for comfort or help. So God alone becomes my focus and He alone becomes my redeemer so He alone gets all the glory and therefore, He delights in me and I lead a good life. My friend, do the same and I bet He will delight in you too.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
