Thoughts for another day
January 4, 2007
Today's verse: 1 Cor. 15:52. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (KJV)
Death. Many of us are very scared of it. But come, today, we shall learn a mystery that God has revealed. Our exit from this earth is guaranteed. The world of mortality must be exited for the world of immortality. What is corrupt has to be sown so that it is raised incorruptible by the tremendous sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the Cross, our corruption is transformed into glorious incorruption.
Oh saint of God understand this. You and I were doomed to death. Doomed to be exiled into darkness away from the light, the very first ethereal thing God created. Because Adam, our first father, sinned. However the Last Adam, our precious Jesus, made a public spectacle of the principalities and powers that had bound us to death, leading them away in triumph by it. He nailed to the cross the bond against us, with which the devil had bound humanity; with every claim it had, by shedding His own precious and pure blood. And He did this even whilst we were sinners.
Oh the blood of the precious and Holy One of Israel, as it flowed down the Cross on the mount of Calvary, washed away each and every iniquity that humans on this earth across ages have ever committed or will commit. That we die not. That, we wear garments of sparkling white, no fuller on earth can bleach. That eventually, we come into His glory and behold His glorious face and experience Him, fullness to fullness (oh I cannot describe that awesome feeling….)
So let us be glad today and realize the intensity of our redemption and if there be one among you who is scared of death, let us tell him, that by Jesus, death is swallowed up into victory whereby we can say: O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
