Thoughts for another day

December 12, 2006

Today's verse: Is. 51:12. I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; (KJV)

In the Bible, we often find God telling us things to our benefit. Really, His promises can bring comfort to our miserable souls, particularly in times of distress.

What we find in today’s verse is the ‘absoluteness’ of God knowing that He loves us and is there for us. In a way, it seems that God is angry that we do not take Him as a comforter. He is amazed we are afraid of the machinations of mere man however powerful he be. He is asking, ‘how dare you be scared when I am there with you?’

God’s indignation was not valid only during the time of Isaiah. In any place today, where a man’s heart is tuned to God, and he looks up to Him as Savior and GOD, He is there for him. There are times, when we need to rise above the tremors our problems cause us and cry out to Him. We need to appeal and make our case known to the King of justice and I know that He will come. The anger that He shows towards the people for lack of trusting in Him will now be focused on your tormentor. And I pity anyone who has to face the wrath of God.

You know the love of God far surpasses any of His other attributes. His only Son Jesus Christ meets with his justice, so if there is a just punishment to be meted out to you, just brush it aside for Jesus has already taken the punishment upon Himself. Know this my friend, today if you commit your ways to God and invite Him in your heart, you immediately become eligible for His protection and without fail, He will be there when you run into a crisis. And He will deliver you out of it. Because, of His love.
