Thoughts for another day

Today's verse: 2 Cor. 5:21. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (KJV)
If someone asks me ‘When did the entire universe stand in bated breath with great anxiety?’ I’d say, at the moment the Father thumped the sins of mankind across generations on to His only begotten Son.
For you and me to get the import of it is a trite difficult because we belong to the feeble species. Our minds are limited or else, there would be exhilaration within our hearts because when the Father did that, there came into fulfillment the pact the son had made with the Father long before the foundation of the world. The pact was that He would go down to earth, become limited and then die for man, the Father’s most marvelous creation, and redeem him from the clutches of death!
My friend, Jesus Christ paid a heavy price to keep the pact. No, not the pain of death if, you are thinking that way. Neither the scourging nor the humiliation by the Roman soldiers, nor the betrayal by Judas or the denial by Peter or the absconding disciples and the people He had loved and helped. Far away from His mind were all these trivialities including the hegemony of the Sanhedrin and the Pharisees. But His main cry was, ‘My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?
My friend, it was a terrible price Christ had to pay. I am not able to give you even a shred of an example of how terrible it was. For that I appeal to the Holy Spirit to enter the core of your heart and give you the feeling of the awesome loneliness your Lord went through when the hour had come. And of course you know why He went through it. Because He loves you. Because His Father loves you and has great expectations from you. Reader, wherever you are, whoever you are, if you have fallen into the muck of sin, get up. Your Savior is calling you. Rise and be healed in your soul for He has endured all for your sake. Blessed is His Name.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
