Thoughts for another day
August 31, 2006
Today's verse: Mt. 6:9. Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. (KJV).
We know that God of Himself, gave Himself to us and there are many shades in which God gives us of Himself. The greatest of these is, as Savior. Jesus is the Savior who made it possible for us to enjoy eternal bliss with our Creator. Were it not for Jesus, we would never be able to enjoy the bliss that we can for we were doomed.
Jesus when on earth gave us His Father as our Father. The significance of this is lost on most of us and life usually goes by without us realizing that we have a Father in Heaven who loves us without measure and cares for us tremendously. All we do in life is worry and be tense. Over nothing, really speaking!
My beloved, Jesus taught the people of those times a prayer and the first words were: Our Father. Which in other words means that we need to see the ‘Great I AM’ as our Father. Comprehend this if you will, the One who is more brilliant than a thousand suns is our Father. Before whom the oceans and mighty thunders shrivel and shut up is our Father! He whose footstool is the earth is our Father. The God of the universe whose palms hold up the vast universe is our Father! Think about it and you will understand. Yet, God is so gentle and so much with us.
David called Him Shepherd. Isaiah called Him the Holy One of Israel. I call Him my Guarantee. Yes, my friend remember when you need Him and look out for Him, He is there. When you cry out to Him, He listens. Look with your eyes of faith and you will realize that He is with you, never far from you. And try me out on this, call to Him today and see He will appear. I challenge you today my friend, give your faith wings, let it soar to reach the Mercy Seat. Life will be different thence on.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
