Thoughts for another day
July 25, 2006
Today's verse: Ps 42:8. Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. (KJV).
Someone asked me, ‘Brother why are you always happy? Don’t you have problems?’ And of course like all children of God who say that God is there, I too do the same aand who doesn’t have problems? The question then is, Is God not there for the others? My friend, when I ask people to trust in God, invariably I am told they do. But yet, they clamor and wriggle when a small misery befalls them. You get the point?
I shall reveal the secret how to be always happy. Rely on God and trust Him fully. In good and bad always talk to Him and tell Him how it was good/bad. He loves it. When you acknowledge His presence continually, He feels proud of you. When you acknowledge Him as your God, He grants you a blessing (Remember, when Jesus asked them, ‘Who do you say I AM?’ And Peter answering said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God’ Jesus immediately conferred a blessing on Him. Mt. 16:13ff).
In life, there will be options, use of man’s way or depend on God’s word. Choose the latter, however much your mind will convince you that you should do both. It doesn’t work. For eg. If your son is having exams tomorrow and there is a weekly prayer meeting today eveing (which you normally attend), GO ATTEND THAT PRAYER MEETING. God will take care of your son. But what do many do? Stay back at home to attend to the son. Why? Brother, the moment I leave home, he switches on the tv. Also, wouldn’t God want me to be with him at this time and I could always pray here. Excuses!!! And a total misunderstanding of God’s ways. Foolish people. Will not the Living God who sees you trusting in Him and ready to give Him time, not take care of your son’s exam? Didn’t Jesus chide Martha, when she complained about her much work and Mary not helping her? Lk. 10:38ff.
My beloved in Christ, see today’s verse and see the confidence of the psalmist. You know I tell people, the car, train, bus, plane I travel in will never meet with any accident. The train I travel in will never be bombed and so on… This is because of my confidence in God. And I can tell you through my tears, that even though I sin, His love never leaves me, His hand is still around me. And you know what, God will do the same to you too for He is an impartial Father. Try Him out today. Tell me your testimony through those holy tears in your eyes, singing: GOD IS GOOD.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
