Thoughts for another day
July 19, 2006
Today's verse: Ro. 8:38,39. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (KJV).
In the coming of Christ, God our Father, opened a new chapter of His love story for His most amazing creation, man. Jeremiah 31:3 says ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love and therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you.’ And through time, God proved His love. But somehow, it didn’t sink into foolish man.
Then in the fullness of time, when earth and heaven were set to witness the most amazing story in the saga of God’s love for the puny creature He created, Jesus Christ arrived. In the most humble circumstances and very vulnerable. His was no ordinary Incarnation. The God who fills the universe, now became limited in form and space. If you sit in the quiet of your heart and try comprehending this, it should fill your mind’s space for eternity as never can one really fathom this act just as one can’t really understand a kid who tries to fill the ocean’s water into a bottle!
But leaving aside the comprehension of things we cannot comprehend, we discover, the greatest joy is that He loves us. Yes my friend He loves us. He has proved He loves us more than anyone else can. He gave His life for us. And today, we have this assurance that nothing can separate us from His love. I have no word more emphatic than nothing but that’s it. God’s love cannot move away from us. Even in our death, we are enveloped in His love. All available through Jesus Christ. And today as you spend a moment thinking about this, I pray that His love impact your mind and He draws you nearer to Him as never before.
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
