Thoughts for another day
July 17, 2006
Today's verse: Jer. 1:5. Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee. (KJV).
If in the quietness of your time with the Maker of the Universe, you sit and reflect upon your status in life, you will realise that He has designed the universe with ‘you’ in mind. However insignificant you consider yourself to be, you still are a part of the wonderful plan of God aimed at making the earth His Kingdom.
God our father above has known us even before He actually formed us. From the foundation of the world, He has known everything about us and He has a plan for our lives if only we allow Him to come in and take control. My beloved in Christ, remember therefore that God knows all about you. He knows your coming and your going. He knows when you will fall and when you will rise and the in-betweens. So fear not; for, He who neither sleeps nor slumbers will guard you. All you need have is the connection with Him in prayer.
In the midst of the tribulation we see these days, what can be the guarantee of safety and peace? For many, it is eschewing the paths of trouble; for others, it is insurance. For many it could be the authorities and yet some will say there is nothing that can be done. But, like Joshua would have said, as for me and my household, we will trust in the Lord. And why not, for He says, Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you and of course, He has carved us on the palm of His hand. Marvellous isn’t it?
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
