Thoughts for another day
May 15, 2006
Today's verse: Mi 6:2. Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD'S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel. (KJV).
The more you learn or think you learn about God, He expands your perspective and knowledge about Him and gets you inside His atmosphere and opens a little more of Himself to you; of course, the only criterion being – your sincerity and your relationship with Him.
In the course of life, there are many things we discover of Him. When we are down He shows how caring He is when He stoops to take our hands and lifts us up. When we are sad He shows Himself as a sure guarantee of our happiness.
When the world messes us up and leaves us with a massive feeling of hatred for it, He comes down like a whiff of fresh breeze and showers us with love. And so it goes on…
What I discovered in today’s verse is another aspect of God: where His heart is pained. He is hurt and therefore he calls the very foundations of the earth and the mountains to bear witness to the hurt and the callousness we subject Him to.
Imagine my friend, His Word says He will plead with us. Plead with us!!! Mere mortals!
He is so awesome and so great…beyond comparison, yet He says, He will plead with us. See how wonderful He is. He knows He is all powerful, yet… In Chap. 13 of John’s Gospel, we have the Word say that Jesus knew the Father had put all things in His hands and then He girded Himself with a towel and set about washing the disciples’ feet…
There is something here, which we need to ponder on. Let our hearts rise to this message of our God and ask Him, Lord, how may I please You rather than hurt You?
Have you felt the whiff of cool air as it brings in much needed showers on a hot summer afternoon? Have you tasted a small bit of bread after hours and days of not having had anything? Have you experienced the satisfaction of an intense need being met? My friend, Jesus Christ can give you this satisfaction and much more. Now is the time to bring Him into your life. Just say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe in you. Come into my life right now. Heal my sin. Heal everything.'
